'might start a thread about pick playing because, well, someone will have to do this at some point … and at this time I feel it could only be me … well at least if someone is interrested because it’s not “standard” bass playing. for a non-pick bass player this kind of bass line might be a nightmare, I honestly don’t know. I know I’m not the “standard bass player” on this point. that’s very true : since the beginning of the Great Bass Buzz Cover Era, it has been for me the easiest song to play (with Gacked On Anger by Amyl & the Sniffers and Disgrace by Boss Hog maybe … hard to say) but that’s because I’m very very very comfortable with a pick. I realize I said this song is very easy to play.is like me, a not-so-new musician … keep that in mind !.we are bass players, we do covers, we record those things, we share them, we get congratulations/advices. this is by NO MEAN a “performance” thread. the intention counts way more than the result. we all had to do something with the key and the ignition at one time … that’s perfectly fine, nobody’s judging anything but the effort to go out your comfort zone and get better ! DO IT ! I’ll always have an infinite respect for a beginner who will post a cover that he/she will consider as shitty. Steve Soto was a founding member and the bass player of Adolescents, and he was also a major figure of the punk-rock scene in California. The song I’m covering is one of my favorites on their very first album, released in 1981. They played with the same energy than what you can ear on their first record, it was pretty impressive. I’ve seen Adolescents playing live a few years ago. I also used the BDI21 in front of the POD for more gain and for this agressive GK-ish edge I like (relatively subtle here), but the Bass POD XT can provide some pretty bright attacks by itself if needed.Ībout the song and the band : back in the very begining of the 80’s, more or less at the time of my first tooth, Adolescents was one of those few bands in California who pretty much invented the skate-punk sub-genre. This song is very easy to play and was a convenient choice for doing some tests with my “new” 18-yr old Bass POD XT ! UTC breaks time into days, hours, minutes, and seconds, where days are usually defined in terms of the Gregorian calendar. Most time zones that are on land are offset from UTC. Services automatically file all of the above under “personality disorder” without a second thought. They do not think adult women or AFAB people who struggle with relationships, have a history of trauma, and who self-harm or attempt suicide. Traditionally, when people think “autism”, they think young white cis boys playing with trains, reciting all the number plates of cars parked in their street. This bias is also present within mental health services. Autistic girls need to display far greater traits of ASD than boys to be considered for assessment, including higher rates of learning disabilities and behavioural problems. Studies show that teachers are more likely to underreport autistic traits in their female students. Bias within the diagnostic framework itself, and in the perception of assessors, actively excludes women and girls. However, while women and girls may be socialised to mask more heavily and force ourselves to appear more neurotypical, this is not the only reason for lower diagnostic rates. It’s recognised that autistic women and girls can sometimes “present” differently in emotion/behaviour/social interaction to autistic men and boys. (I have tried to include trans and non-binary people as much as possible, but given that much of what is discussed is under researched, in many areas of the blog I can only refer to cis men and women, as there is no research looking at trans/non-binary peoples experiences.)Īutism is under diagnosed in women and AFAB people for many years it was thought to be the exclusive territory of cis boys and men, and this misconception has continued to roll over through health, education, and social care services even to this day. While I have previously written my views on BPD, misogyny, and trauma here, this blog post specifically discusses the apparent similarities between autism and BPD, with particular focus on “misdiagnosis” of autistic women and AFAB people. PD labels, (particularly BPD/EUPD) are unscientific, moralistic, pejorative value judgements which serve to silence, stigmatise, dismiss, and degrade women LGBT+ people gender non-conforming people victims of sexual abuse, violence, and other forms of trauma neurodivergent people and people mental health services perceive as “difficult”, “complex”, or expensive. I stand in opposition to the entire concept of “personality disorder” and do not believe anyone can legitimately be “diagnosed” as having a disordered personality. For clarity - I do not actually believe anyone can be “misdiagnosed” with BPD, because such a statement gives validity to the BPD construct. I have used this term to simplify my language. Throughout this blog post I sometimes use the term “misdiagnosis” to describe autistic people being wrongly diagnosed with BPD. So let's load our new skin and take a look at where we stand. What that means is that this meter will display the value returned by the measure on each Update. The key to using measures and meters together is using the MeasureName option to "bind" the measure to the meter. This way we won't have to repeat them in every meter we create. First, we are going to use the MeterStyle option by creating a section to set up some common string formatting options. So let's add a meter to display this value we obtained with our measure. We are using a format of "hour in 12 hour time:minutes" for this measure. ĭo check out the manual entry for the Time measure to see how that Format option is used to obtain the time information you want. Now let's add our first Measure, in this case a Time measure to retrieve information about the system time from your computer. In addition, we will be using some more features of the String meter and dip our toes a little deeper into using action options and Bangs in your skin.įirst, as we did in our earlier tutorial, let's add the section to control the Update speed of the skin. Measures are used to obtain some information in Rainmeter, from your computer's system, text files, web sites, and other sources. This tutorial will introduce using Measures in a skin. Don't load the skin just yet, we need to add some code first. This will open the new skin file in your default text editor. Find Clock.ini in the list, right-click it and say "Edit". Click on the Refresh all button on the bottom left, and you should see your new Tutorials / Clock config in the list. Now, left-click the Rainmeter icon in the Windows notification area on your taskbar, to open the Manage dialog. In Windows explorer, you can simply right-click in the folder and say "New / Text document". In that Tutorials\Clock folder, create a new empty text file. Under Skins\Tutorials\ create a new folder called Clock. We are going to add a new folder under that one to create our new skin. In the previous tutorial, you should have already created a folder under Skins called Tutorials. Instantly transform your old phone, PC, or any other device into a powerful gaming machine.
